Ojo Frito | Encaustic, acrylic and ink on wood | 30” x 40”

Inviting viewers to see the world through the absurd lens of a fried eye, this work draws on Julio Cortázar’s Rayuela: “We must learn to look differently, to listen differently, to feel differently.” It celebrates the strange, fascinating paths people take, suggesting that diverse perspectives enrich our understanding. Inspired by The Beatles’ “I’m Looking Through You,” which explores transformation and the fleeting nature of identity, asking us to embrace the lessons hidden in others’ journeys. The more perspectives we have, the better our appreciation of the world.
