Inspired by my line “Like a mobile from Calder in perpetual motion the city never sleeps,” this painting transforms written phrases into a dynamic cityscape with a magical sky. Drawing on 1990s song lyrics—“And in between the moon and you the angels get a better view”—and “The moon looked blood red,” it pays homage to Van Gogh’s pointillism with spontaneous, vibrant energy. Spontaneity took over.
