Silent Majority | Acrylic and gesso on wood | 30” x 40”

The silent majority—those who refrain from protest or dissent—watch the world burn, yet remain silent and still. Upon closer inspection, the buildings decay and smolder, rendered in sepia tones to evoke a timeless, haunting decay. The sky, draped in bandages (gauzes), symbolizes wounds left untended. In this painting, I, a member of the silent majority, seek to proclaim that silence is not an option. We witness injustices but often feel paralyzed by hopelessness or fear. Yet, I believe even subtle acts of resistance, like a work of art, can chip away at oppression. We are not powerless. We must begin where we stand, use what we have, and do what we can.
